After a full month of waiting, the October 2015 BDJ Elite Box finally arrived. It actually wasn’t a surprise for me anymore because I was invited to the BDJ Box Beauty Ministry’s Makeup Party last October 17 where they shot this month’s unboxing video. Link here: https://youtu.be/Lg3grkxMvbE

Having seen what the box contained, I was pretty excited to receive the box and try all the goodies inside. It’s an exclusive box featuring the newest line from Celeteque – the DermoCosmetics. What makes this line different from most of the makeup brands in the market is that it combines skincare and makeup, thus making you 2x Beautiful! All their products from this line has skincare benefits so it’s a friendly everyday makeup line.

Side note: This unboxing is actually incomplete because BDJ Box was only able to ship out the first 7 products due to Celeteque’s supply issues. There are 2 more items yet to be shipped which are included in this Celeteque Exclusive box – the Eyebrow Nourishing Serum and the Hydrolyzed Moisturizing Mist. I’ll update this post once I receive the items.

Unlike my previous unboxing posts, I included some swatches of the products so you’ll have a better idea of the shades and the finishes of the products. Here are the 7 Celeteque DermoCosmetics products:

1) 24-Hour Photoready Liquid Foundation with SPF 30

This foundation comes in 3 shades: Light, Natural, and Beige (ordered from light to dark). I find the Natural shade to still be a bit light for my morena skin tone so I guess the Beige would fit me better. I do like that this comes in tube form because I will be able to squeeze the product out until the last drops and it’s also hygienic compared to a tub. The foundation itself has a thick consistency so it’s better to apply it using a wet sponge. From what I can tell, it has light coverage but buildable to medium. It’s definitely matte and does not contain any luminizers. It has SPF 30 so it has built in sun protector and it’s also marketed as a long-wear foundation.

2) Dual CC Matte Powder with SPF 30

This pressed powder has that silky, fine-milled texture which allows for easier blending and doesn’t give that cakey look. It also claims to provide a 12-hour matte finish so you won’t need frequent touch-ups. Apart from that, this product has built-in color correcting pigments to even out skin tone and its SPF 30 will protect your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays. It’s said to contain glutathione, arbutin, and mulberry to lighten skin, collagen peptide for skin elasticity and firmness, and tocopheryl acetate for hydration.

The compact itself is also great with its big mirror and separator to keep the sponge’s moisture away from the rest of the product. It also comes in 3 shades: Light, Natural, and Beige.

3) Blush and Face Contour Kit

This is a pretty sleek compact that you can bring around with you for your contour, blush, and highlighting needs. It has it’s own mirror but you would need a separate brush as it doesn’t come with an applicator. It’s said to contain Mica for skin clarity and radiance, rosy white crystals for long-lasting color, castor oil to fight skin ageing, vitamins A, E, F, H, and B that soothes and protects skin from irritation, and mineral gems, diamond, tourmaline, and sapphire to exfoliate skin.

It comes in Pink and Peach shades.

4) Cheek Color Stick

This cheek color stick has a lot, and I mean a lot, of luminizers. For me, it’s more of a tinted highlighter than a blush. As you can see in the upper box of the swatch, it looks almost silver when it’s hit directly by light. I had to swipe another coat and angle my hand to show you the color. It’s a nifty little tool that will come in handy when you need to fake a flushed glow. It has Vitamin E, bisabolol to restore suppleness, and sweet almond oil for moisture.

It comes in 2 shades: Pink and Peach.

5) Dark Spot Concealer Stick

It’s a creamy concealer stick that glides on smoothly. I tried to cover a dark spot on my hand as seen on the top swatch. The product didn’t completely cover it but it did make it less noticeable. As with cream concealers, building coverage without it looking too obvious is a challenge and the same is true with this product. That’s why I settled for not completely covering the dark spot. This concealer is said to have ubiquinone that reduces damage from free radicals, glycolic acid to lighten blemishes, dark spots, and age spots, Vitamin E for hydration, and Cytobiol Lumin-Eye that reduces puffy eyes in as short as 15 days.

This comes in 3 shades: Light, Natural, and Beige.

6) Matte Lip Stick

Celeteque Matte Lipstick in Cherry (Php595, 2.4g)

Bright. That’s the first thing that popped into my head when I pulled the cap off. It’s definitely an eye-catching color that’s guaranteed to make your pout stand out. It’s super pigmented but being a matte lipstick, it highlighted the cracks in my flaky lips. It’s said to contain vitamin e, bisabolol, and candelilla wax so I guess with regular use, lips will be more hydrated and nourished.

There are limited shades available though: Peach, Pink, and Cherry.

7) 24-Hour Volumizer Mascara

Celeteque 24-Hour Volumizer Mascara (Php645, 6.5g)
Celeteque 24-Hour Volumizer Mascara (Php645, 6.5g)

I haven’t opened the tube yet so I don’t have a swatch for you. I just recently opened a new mascara and I didn’t want to dry this one out by opening it. Anyway, this mascara is said to have acrylates copolymer  to prevent clumping and smudging, aloe barbadensis leaf juice for anti-bacterial properties, beeswax and canuba wax to make lashes look fuller, and hydrogenated palm oil to nourish the roots of the lashes.

Apart from the ingredients, this mascara has another special feature. If you notice the cap (which is actually the base of the wand), there’s a partition which you can twist to adjust the bristles of the wand. In full mode, the mascara wand helps lengthen your lashes. When you twist the knob, the bristles will compress and the brush will shorten. This will convert the mascara wand into a volumizer to make your lashes appear fuller.

Those are all the 7 products included in the 1st shipment. Running total is Php4,865 or 3.29x what I paid for. Factoring in the Eyebrow Nourishing Serum and Hydrolyzed Moisturizing Mist worth another Php917, the total value of the box will be Php5,782 or 3.9x the cost of the box.

This is definitely one of the most value-for-money boxes ever released by BDJ Box. Thank you to Celeteque for being very very generous. =)
